Cattle Show
Support for the cattle classes has returned steadily since their re-introduction after the foot and mouth outbreak in 2000/2001, and in recent years we have again seen very good numbers of cattle across a variety of classes.
.
We are most careful to keep in close touch with DEFRA to ensure that the necessary bio-security precautions are met or exceeded.

Visitors to the Show are encouraged to tour the cattle lines but are asked not to take dogs and to observe the health and safety and bio-security notices.

In the afternoon a Grand Parade of cattle is held in the main ring.

Classes are held in as many breeds as possible but in some cases, such as Herefords, there are just not enough available competitors to support a separate class. They can, of course, compete in the "mixed" classes. In recent years classes have been held for Ayrshire, Holstein, Guernsey, Jersey, Aberdeen Angus, British Limousin, Dexter and South Devon.

There are also classes for junior handlers and the ever popular Y.F.C. classes.
